What the score is made of
Every person carries a small constellation of numbers — a Life Path from their birth date, and an Expression, Soul Urge and Personality hidden in their name. Compatibility isn't one number matching another; it's how two whole charts meet. The calculator compares the charts position by position and weights the Life Path heaviest, the way the tradition does:
- Mirror — the same number in the same place. Reads like recognition.
- Harmony — different numbers from the same affinity group (1·5·7, 2·4·8, 3·6·9). Similar wants, compatible pace.
- Contrast — numbers from different groups. Where a pair either balances or has to do its work.
The two Personal Years add a timing layer: whether you're in the same season of the 9-year cycle right now. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept whole everywhere except the group test, where they pair through their base number — see the guide to master numbers.

The free result lines the numbers up. The Full Compatibility Reading is a personal, written reading of the two charts together — how one person's Expression meets the other's Soul Urge, where personalities first read each other, whose Personal Year sets the tone right now, and how to work with the friction points as growth rather than warnings. Each person can also get their own Full Numerology Reading.
Questions, answered
How is numerology compatibility calculated?
Each person's core numbers are worked out from their birth date (Life Path) and birth name (Expression, Soul Urge, Personality), then compared position by position. Identical numbers mirror; numbers from the same affinity group (1-5-7, 2-4-8, 3-6-9) harmonize; the rest contrast. The Life Path carries the most weight, and this year's Personal Years add a timing layer.
Which Life Path numbers are most compatible?
Classically, numbers within the same group pair most easily: 1, 5 and 7 (independent, mental), 2, 4 and 8 (practical, building) and 3, 6 and 9 (creative, expressive). Cross-group pairs aren't bad matches — they bring different things — but they tend to take more translating.
Is a low compatibility score a bad sign?
No. The score describes how alike two charts are, not how good a relationship is. Contrasting numbers often balance each other; the breakdown shows exactly where the two of you approach life differently so you can decide what that means for you.
Do I need both people's full birth names?
The Life Path only needs birth dates, but the name-based numbers (Expression, Soul Urge, Personality) need the full name on each birth certificate — middle names included. A married or shortened name gives a different chart.
Can I send the result to the other person?
Yes. Every result comes with a share link that opens the same comparison with the other person's side highlighted, and lets them calculate their own full chart free.
